September News 2010

Where to even start…
The seasons are changing, as is evidenced by the brisk wind and ebbing daylight.
And we are here in Minnesota.

Still.

Wondering why…

Working to raise funds…

Serving where we can…

But still here in Minnesota.

So we soldier on, doing what we believe we are supposed to (ie, fundraising, serving the youth here in Wells, praying and fasting…), with the vision of returning to Ireland very alive in our hearts.

Stateside Synopsis:
  • Sunday night youth group is continuing into the school year. Maureen heads up the band and Kevin helps with the teaching times and follow up for the meetings. Attendance is up and down, but God can use even brief encounters to change lives.
  • Sarai will be going to the local school this fall to keep her up on her studies and give added structure.
  • Kevin is currently working on several out of State visits with small groups and friends.
  • We’ve seen a couple of our larger financial donors leave our team for a wide range of reasons from personal finance to medical treatment. BUT…
  • Living and serving in a small town has blessed us with many new acquaintances and partnerships. We have a local open house later in September which will broaden that scope of influence even more.
Fairy good helpers...
Grand visitors...

Wild birthdays...

Summer silliness...
And reminders of home.

Galway Glimpse:
  • Youth and Young Adults groups have begun once more. In our absence, temporary church volunteers continue to lead the youth group and young adults meeting we normally lead.
  • The future of YfC Ireland and Galway is up in the air. Our national director has stepped down and the YFC Ireland steering committee is currently looking for a replacement.  There is also a need for new steering members for YFC Galway.
  • We have such a desire to return to Galway, but have to rely on the knowledge that God’s timing is best, stay faithful, seek Him first and everything else falls in place.

These are our needs--
Here's how YOU can help:
  • Become a financial donor.
YEARLY: Could you give $120, $240, or more a year? The breakdown is reasonable at only $10-20 a month.
MONTHLY: Consider a gift of $30, $50, or more on a monthly basis.

We are so grateful for all of you who have faithfully journeyed with us. If you can do this great, if not, know we are still blessed!  Here are some other practical ways that you could help.

  • Make a list of family and friends that you think would be impacted by our story. From there host an open house for us where we can come, indulge in some tea and biscuits, and share our passion for Ireland.
  • Talk to your pastor about having us come to speak at your adult Sunday school class.
  • Pray for us! Sign up for our weekly prayer email to keep up to date and know how you can lift us and our mission up in prayer.
  • Share your thoughts and ideas with us. If you are reading this, you must have some sort of investment in either us or Ireland, and we value cultivating that relationship further.

BLESSINGS IN HIM
