August News 2010

Soooooo......When are you guys heading back to Ireland again?

Ahhh, the eternal question these days.  Our thoughts?  Sooner than later.  What does that mean?  Well as our self imposed deadline of August ebbs away, and our hard work hasn't paid forward quite enough to sustain us in Ireland yet, we must generically say, "Fall".

Some may think, "I knew it!" others "here we go again....it'll be another 2 years...."  To which we answer, "Who knows?"  We believe we are in God's will...and funny enough, our ways aren't always His, or our timing and goals not fully on par with His timetable.  Go figure!  We are so schedule oriented that when we fall short of the mark we can feel like we've failed.  How many people have said that the bitter taste of failure helps us to truly savor the sweetness of success?  Who's to say we've failed besides our selves and the equally driven observer?  There might just be something great around the corner that we don't have the capacity to fully enjoy yet, or give God the whole glory for!

In any case, we continue to do our part:  calling, having meetings, and encouraging word of mouth referrals, to raise the awareness and money to get us back ministering in Galway.

Do you have ideas for us?  Who do you know that would be interested in our story?
  • Someone recently suggested going to all the local, small town papers--our story would be a great human interest article and would give a name/face to missions in Ireland.
  • A local business hosted a fundraiser for us after hours.  A owner of a craft store helped provide for the silent auction.  Area friends helped volunteer and donate items for the silent auction as well.
  • One of the local churches invited us to speak at their adult Sunday school and then again at the service time exposing nearly 100 new people to the work of God in Ireland.

Where are you in all of this?  Do you have ideas?  How about people to tell?  You may have more to contribute than you know.  These are our needs--Here's how you can help:

  •  Become a yearly donor.  Could you give $120, $240, or more a year?  The breakdown is reasonable at only $10-20 a month.
  • Make a list of family and friends that you think would be impacted by our story.  From there host an open house for us where we can come, indulge in some tea and biscuits, and share our passion for Ireland.
  • Talk to your pastor about having us come to speak at your adult Sunday school class.
  • Pray for us!  Sign up for our weekly prayer email to keep up to date and know how you can lift us and our mission up in prayer.
  • Share your thoughts and ideas with us.  If you are reading this, you must have some sort of investment either in us or Ireland, and we value cultivating that relationship further.
