January News 2011

"Athbhliain faoi Mhaise Daoibh"
(AH vlee-ihn    fwee   WAH-shuh   Heev)
"You have a Prosperous New Year."

Thoughts on a year gone by…

It’s no lie that 2010 had some extreme times for our family.  Looking back on the good, and of course the not so fantastic moments, these are some of what we count as memorable (in semi-chronological order so as not to play favorites):
o    Tony Anthony Evangelism event that brought over 100 Irish Christians together for training, and another 300+ people for a time of testimony.
o    Hosting 36 hours of continual prayer for Ireland, Galway, and GCF church.
o    Unexpected last minute finances coming through, in exactly the amount we needed to finish out our 1st year in Ireland.
o    Leaving Ireland.
o    God providing a place for us to live and use our talents ministering to youth in Wells, MN.
o    Completing a sprint distance triathalon (M) and a ½ marathon (K).
o    3 days of camping with Kevin’s family.
o    Holding a fundraiser at an Irish pub in Duluth, MN.
o    Re-connecting with Maureen’s dad.
o    Naomi & Sarai losing their 1st tooth.
o    Any one of the numerous car trips to a fundraising venue with 3 small children in the back seat.
o    Being in the States beyond our departure date/goal.
o    Sarai starting 1st grade, Hannah starting preschool.
o    Christmas with family.

"Don't turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you.  Love her, and she will guard you."
Proverbs 4:6 NAS

These are words to take us into our ministry and 2011.  In the coming year we feel very strongly about pursuing further ministry-focused training and mentorship in our own lives.

We still have a desire to work with the youth in Ireland and do not feel that call has changed.

However, we would appreciate prayer for clarity and direction as we get wise counsel and press into God.  We really desire to hear from Him on who/where we should commit our family and time to in the coming year(s).  We are really seeking God on our future with GCF/YFC Ireland.  You all have been such a blessing and encouragement to us in the past, and we look forward to future ministry with you.  Thank you for you for standing in the gap for us!

Join us in PRAYER:
o    We continue to seek & surrender in the area of long-term vision.
o    Kevin will be traveling to and around IR from 24 January–2 February speaking with a number of churches and ministries & also taking care of some of our personal effects.
o    Grace for Maureen and the Girls while Kevin is away.
o    Courage to make some possibly tough decisions in the coming month:
·      Should we champion the re-launch of YfC Ireland in Galway
·      Do we re-start and re-create Galway Christian Fellowship’s youth & young adult ministries
o    God’s provision of daily bread
·      We need an additional $1,500/month to complete our living/ministry budget before returning to Ireland

Blessings in Him,

The Gamradts
