“No way! I didn’t know he is a Christian!”
“Jay” exclaimed as he saw one of his friends promoting our September youth event on a video. Funny thing is, his friend would probably say the same thing.
Well, 70+ teenagers, over 10 youth leaders, from 9 different Galway area churches, 5 volunteers, and 2 Youth For Christ Galway staff later…
The first official YfC event was absolutely AMAZING. Maybe bowling, Slushies, and snooker don’t sound that outrageous, but consider the following: Like what “Jay” said, most of these teens have never met another Christian their age in the city outside of their own youth group, or wouldn’t know it if they had. This event served to open the eyes of the Galway area youth to how many more Christians their age are in the city, and maybe even in their own neighborhoods and schools. We truly believe that God will use this event and those to come to move in this generation in Ireland, regardless of denominations, race, or age. By hosting event nights like this one we hope to keep drawing in the teenagers of the area youth groups, and that they would start inviting their un-churched friends out for a night of fun. Through building relationships and showing the truth of what it is to be a Christian teen, we believe that this generation will be impacted and in turn make an impact for Jesus. Sometimes you just need to see the bigger picture—see what you are a part of—to know that you make a difference.
Thank you for making a difference in Galway. Your prayers, encouragement, and monetary gifts are part of the bigger picture. In order to sustain this ministry, we need additional “color”. Know of anyone else who would like to be part of this tapestry? Please don’t hesitate to pass on our information (including our blog www.gamfamireland.blogspot.com) or give us their details so we can contact them.

*Sarai has started school and is loving it.
*Hannah is enjoying her time alone with Mom & Dad, and Naomi while Sarai is at school. It’s been great getting to “know” our middle child more.
*Naomi is now 1! We praise the Lord for her continued good health. It’s amazing and humbling to think where she was just one year ago.

*We are putting together a youth conference for Plumbline churches across Ireland for 26-28 October. Pray that the right speakers, worship leaders, cooks, and general facilitation staff would come alongside us and the youth. Also that the youth would come and be refreshed and blessed.
*Planning of the next YfC hosted youth event. Time, venue, speaker, youth and youth leaders to participate, and a date in November are all things to consider.
*Continued health. With Sarai in school and Kevin having Lyme’s Disease, we are at increased risk of catching whatever’s floating about, including Swine Flu.
*Finances and Current Supporters. The economy is taking it’s toll worldwide, including on those that help fund this ministry and on us.
